From Monday 28th September to Saturday 10th October, Once Upon A Time In Sokoto brings an epic and powerful story to the stage. Written by award-winning playwright Inua Ellams, known for Barber Shop Chronicles, the production explores an unlikely friendship between a slave and her former master. Set against the backdrop of events leading to the creation of Nigeria, the story explores faith, culture, heritage, family and friendship as old differences are challenged by new enemies.
Then, from Tuesday 6th to Saturday 10th October, prepare to raise the roof with The Choir of Man. Described as an uplifting celebration of community and friendship, this hugely entertaining show combines sensational singing, world-class musicianship, poetry and foot-stomping entertainment. And yes, there really is a bar on stage! It’s the kind of show designed to leave audiences smiling, singing and wanting to come back for more.
And if comedy is more your thing, Saturday 10th October sees comedian Finlay Christie bring Champahttps://royalandderngate.co.uk/whats-on/finlay-christie/gne Casanova to the stage.
