Today I had the pleasure of attending the Northamptonshire Heritage Fair at the delightful Wicksteed Park representing “On The Map“.
I joined the team of local businesses who are shouting about Northamptonshire, but we’re missing one thing…… a brown tourism sign on the M1 to direct people to the County.
In May 2024, it was announced that “On The Map” was going to be formed to learn about how we could apply for the signage, what we need to do and how we could potentially make it happen. Today I had the pleasure of representing the team at Wicksteed Park to attract more interest to our project.
The Heritage Fair was well attended with local people coming together from local venues, re-enactment groups, heritage projects and even some morris dancers! It had it all!

I even got to spend some time with Cllr Ben Jameson, Mayor of Kettering, and local artist Matthew Hutton who has produced some stunning pieces of artwork from famous landmarks around the County.
Membership to the Northamptonshire Heritage Forum starts at just £20 for individual members and is well worth supporting so you can find out what’s happening around the County and I would fully recommend it!
For now though, do take some time out and visit the On The Map Northamptonshire website so you can understand more about the project and how you could get involved.
