Northampton’s Royal & Derngate is preparing for an exciting week of entertainment this July, with a diverse programme featuring world-class music, comedy, literature and performing arts.
Music fans are in for a treat on Tuesday 7th July when acclaimed singer-songwriter David Gray takes to the stage. Renowned for his distinctive voice and heartfelt songwriting, Gray has enjoyed a hugely successful career spanning decades, producing much-loved hits including Babylon, Sail Away and This Year’s Love. His live performances are celebrated for their emotional depth and captivating atmosphere, making this a must-see event for fans old and new.
The musical celebrations continue on Wednesday 8th July with Rumours of Fleetwood Mac. Widely regarded as one of the finest tribute acts in the world, the show faithfully recreates the magic and energy of one of rock music’s most iconic bands. Audiences can look forward to classic songs such as Go Your Own Way, Dreams and The Chain as the band pays tribute to Fleetwood Mac’s remarkable legacy.
On Thursday 9th July, award-winning actor, comedian, director and writer Richard Ayoade brings his unique wit and charm to Northampton with Richard Ayoade: Afterthoughts. Best known for his work on television and film, Ayoade will share reflections and stories inspired by his latest book, offering audiences an entertaining evening of humour and insight.
Rounding off the week on Saturday 11th July is Open Stage: Arena, a vibrant production from Open Stage Performing Arts. Through an impressive variety of dance styles and theatrical performances, Arena explores humanity’s enduring love of spectacle, tracing the journey from Ancient Greek theatre and Roman arenas to modern sporting events and global music concerts.
